Carlisle-based Motivesounds are a label that seems devoted to post-rock releases; for the uninitiated that's the post-rock of the quiet/loud instrumental variety. Considering Mt.'s 'Lethologica' is the ninth release on the label, they now seem to be almost old hands at this kind of venture. Mt. include two former members of labelmates Ctrlaltdelete plus one drummer. Initially, they seem to be struggling to create their own sound but then on 'Between Now, And Then', they incorporate not only yearning vocals but also a gripping melody. Continuing the good form, on 'Decline Into Shadows', the guitarists pile on wave after wave of bruising but tuneful rock dynamics. They even pull off the obligatory huge final track with dignity intact. Don't expect any life-changing experiences from Mt. but this is another solid offering from Motivesounds.
