Cesare Marilungo hails from Italy and under the moniker of Noosfera has been quite prolific in his releases which explore the ambient side of electronic music. This modestly-titled collection tells the tale of a musician investigating a number of directions in order to find his own niche. At his best - the heavy reverb, repeated guitar chords and desolation of 'Why?' and 'September' - there's every suggestion that Marilungo is Rome's answer to Yellow6. Other tracks possess similar good influences, 'Far Away' recalls an instrumental passage from This Mortal Coil for instance. 'Cold' - a piece built on echo and metronomic beats - is blessed with a church-like ambience and 'Bits Of Memories' makes good use of electro-static. Admittedly there are a couple of occasions when the instrumentals overcook the repetitive element but these fears are surpassed by the signs of greatness scattered throughout this album.
