Another inspired signing to the increasingly more relevant Minneapolis-based label Words On Music, Coastal stick to the sombre, sparse template favoured by Low. No surprise therefore that the leading duo of songwriter/guitarist Jason and vocalist Luisa are a wedded couple too. Their harmonies and delicate guitar work are the basis for an impressive second album. Yet crucially - to avoid the Low-copying tag they may suffer from - there are touches of dreampop ambience added to their sensitive, gentle ballads which really comes into its own on the downright beautiful 'Until You Sleep', 'Leaves' and 'Drift'. And when they get it right they truly are a match made in heaven.
