If computers were left to their own devices then it's feasible they would make music just like that produced by SI-CUT.DB. The sleeve notes even include the words "all accordions played generatively" when in fact the producer is one Douglas Benford, an experienced instrumentalist with 15 years of recording behind him. This release for Highpoint Lowlife records fits in nicely with Komputer's 'Market Led' released in 2002. The results are frequently charming, taking in a variety of clipped beats, loops, static and found sound. At the beginning there is the essence of the loneliness of machines characterised by the bass thump of 'Reverse Self Help' before moving on to the ghostly dub of 'Nearness' which in turn takes a detour in to the almost-danceable club sounds of 'Glad/e' and 'Secret Rockets'; the kind which Everything But The Girl could make use of. Despite clocking in at just under an hour, the technical expertise is matched by a distinct sense of empathy for the robot world
