Perhaps typically for a band
based in Bristol, Airbus use their fair share of trip-hop effects
to enhance their musical palette. Crucially though, their debut
album 'Ghosts' adds a rockier, almost grunge-like angle which
perhaps make them pioneers in this field. 'Gravity' boasts an
excellent riff-filled chorus whilst 'All My Wishes' is darker,
restrained and more mysterious, its falsetto vocals evoking
comparisons with the similarly-styled Six By Seven on one of
their best tracks, 'European Me'. The other outstanding song is 'Secret'
which merges the best elements of the aforementioned tracks into
something quite captivating. Overall, this is a fine beginning
for a group with original ideas and the ability to turn these
into a highly likeable product.
